At Crossroads Of Life

Surrounded by people, yet a touch forlorn,
the journey is over, yet again reborn,
by experiences that temper, like fire to steel,
by exploding emotions, and salves that heal,
troubled by commitments, yet free of the world,
the path before you changes, a new map is unfurled,
I listen to my footsteps, in line with the rhythm of my beat,
as the pounding is now a singing murmur, followed by mine feet,
I listen to that heartsong, I listen to the wind,
Energized by every support, my loving kith and kin,
I tread my path with determination, no sign of fatigue nor scorn,
surrounded, it indeed helps to be forlorn…
for in that lone moment, I can listen to the whispers from the sky, the melody in the wind, the thoughts that fly by…
Hardest and elusive is that one thing; love, enshrined in its simplicity,
the hardest to come by and hardest to see,
where one goes, one does not know,
for the melody follows where the wind blows…
Yet the tune does not abandon,
hope, or flee from love cherished,
for love lives in melody, foolish emotion unblemished.
