There’s everything in the ‘Village’.
This shopping mall is
our local universe.
From the mid-courtyard,
Look up
at the arching pagoda,
Like the temple dome:
What’re glimpsed
Within and without ?
Contours of flesh,
Bottled colours and smells,
Golden shine.
The mating lanes
of the Free Market,
Peeping eyes from
above and below
the escalator,
The sensuous rustle
of the garments,
On line trading,
On line sex,
Book shop,
Condom shop,
Elisa-test-shop.

Behind them
The staircase winds up
to the naked terrace,
for an easy jump down,
headlong.
The brains will scatter,
Only on the marble floor
of the fenced facility
with auto-cleaning,
Out of sight
of the shoppers.

There’s everything in the ‘Village’.
Only what’s here
is found elsewhere;
What’s not here
is found nowhere.
