Procession
G. Harikrishnan
6 January 2008, 10:17We’re waiting
for a solitary woman
to get down at the wrong bus stop,
for a school girl
to return home alone,
for a female child
to stretch its hands for toys.
Then, like the vampire’s brides
We condense forth
from the snow-dust
of lust
And close upon the prey.
We’re waiting
in the flickering twilight
of love
for the darkness to descend
upon the streets of life.
Then, through the endless night
We’ll dance
in ever expanding circles
Blood thirsting for blood.
We’re waiting
in the tombs of your hearts
for you
to open the door and drink the blood
in vain lust
of eternal bliss.
